Here is a new patio we built in Crawley recently. The area was quite compact to work in especially when we had to use 4 different sizes in the area but we think it was definitely worth it.
Old patio was completely removed and a new base of Type 1 MOT foundation was installed. Due to the levels on the patio area, we had to create a step down area at the back door and run heavy duty Aco drains along the house line completely to ensure the surface water would drain away accordingly.
We would of loved to have dropped the entire level of the patio but the walling which was in place would of needed to of been removed and replaced which would have led to a significant increase in the cost. We worked with our patio designers to create this alternative and more affordable solution instead.
The Desert sandstone was jointed using a charcoal resin grout to make a contrast on the sandstone.
